Job Title: Maintenance Technician II
Job Status: Full-time
Job Summary: Under direct supervision, the Maintenance Technician II uses basic knowledge and skills obtained through on-the-job training to perform routine maintenance on ACCESS’ buildings and grounds. Maintain and manage ACCESS’ facilities, the non-profit’s key and largest asset. Supporting and fulfilling the needs of ACCESS’ facilities and programs so that they can perform their work in the community through coordination of capital resources, and first responder to address facility matters. Perform the day-to-day tasks to maintain the physical assets of the properties under the direction of the Facilities Manager including logistical assistance to the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Electrical and lighting repair
- Plumbing and mechanical repair
- Carpentry/Flooring
- Delivery/Moving/Assembly
- Preventative maintenance and building inspections
- Supply ordering and purchasing
- Logistics including event set-up and tear-down
- Locksmithing
- Grounds keeping
- Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC) repair and maintenance
- Appliance repair
- Housekeeping
- Responsible for finding the most cost-effective solution when fulfilling general supply requests
- Operate standard office equipment and use required software applications
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
- Electrical and lighting repair, plumbing, carpentry and locksmith functions
- Building and ground maintenance functions
- Basic aspects of mechanical, electrical and plumbing
Skill in:
- All general maintenance procedures
- Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications for program area and other applications, including Microsoft Office
Ability to:
- Partner with other functional areas to accomplish objectives
- Provide a high level of customer service
- Maintaining facilities in such a way that ensures the safety and comfort of staff and patrons
- Assist in general tasks to allow others to focus their efforts where most required
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organization
- Work in a fast pace organization and enjoys serving others
Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:
- Minimum Degree Required:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent

- Valid Michigan Driver License
Working Conditions:
Hours: Normal business hours, some additional hours may be required
Travel Required: Local and in-state travel, up to 10%
