Job Summary: Under limited supervision, the Coordinator of Behavioral Health uses specialized knowledge and skills in the coordination, development, planning, implementation and evaluation of a Behavioral Health program. Work is characterized by independent judgment and discretion in meeting program objectives. Assigns cases to professionals and serves as a technical support to the teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Advocate for behavioral health treatment, disease prevention and behavioral health promotion
- Prepare and administer program evaluations and audits, work directly with program auditors when necessary
- Provide technical and administrative support to staff; ensure that staff has documentation of outreach activities, data entry and analysis
- Develop, plan and execute needs assessment activities
- Ensure that information is collected for accurate and timely reporting as required by funding sources
- Meet all reporting requirements for all funding sources
- Develop, cultivate and maintain relationships with various funding sources
- May create, manage and operate within a specified budget in conjunction with the Fiscal department,
- Prepare and deliver written and oral presentations to health care professionals, schools, parents and community members as well as organizations and professionals working with the Arab American population and/or the area of behavioral health/disease prevention

- Engage in research initiatives as directed by the Manager of Behavioral Health Programs
- In partnership with the Communications department, direct all communications and publicity efforts for the program
- Follow the funding sources’ requirements and CARF standards applicable to the services provided
- Keep abreast of new developments in the field and shares information with program staff and community
- Responsible for monthly monitoring of billing activities, ensure units are met and monitor completion of source documentation
- Train staff on new curricula that is required by the funders for requirements in the work plan or annual plans
- Attend trainings and represent ACCESS at meetings and conferences as needed to fulfill funding requirements or expand current programming
- May support the coaching and training of staff
- May lead or co-facilitate clinical team meetings
- May oversee the daily operation of the Behavioral Health School Based Initiatives and ensure all requirements are met
- May provide clinical support for the Victim of Crime Act Program
- May assist Manager of Behavioral Health Programs with assigned tasks relevant to the program’s scope of work
- May assist in the preparation and organization of community health events, fundraising and training
- May assist in the development of a parenting and staff curriculum
- May provide onsite behavioral health assessment and treatment
- May work and assist in conjunction with the Quality Assurance Manager to ensure compliance with agencies quality assurance plan
- May provide clinical trainings for staff, new hires and interns
- May provide presentations and trainings to community partners
- May plan, assign, monitor and manage the work of others
- May assist with performance plans
- May review performance and evaluate results achieved by subordinates
- May coach and mentor subordinates
- May interpret, apply and recommend changes to the program
- May balance conflicting resource and priority demands
- Operate standard office equipment and use required software applications
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
- Advanced concepts, principles and practices in community health
- Grant and other funding sources related to the assigned functional area
- Advanced concepts, principles and practices in behavioral health
Skill in:
- Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications for program area and other applications, including Microsoft Office
Ability to:
- Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
- Speak English and Arabic fluently preferred

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:
- Minimum Degree Required:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Master’s degree or PhD preferred
- Required Disciplines:
- Behavioral Health, Social Work, Psychology or related field

- At least 3 years of experience in a behavioral health environment or any equivalent combination of experience, education and/or training approved by Human Resources
Licenses/Certifications:
- Licenses/Certifications Required at Date of Hire:
- Certification and/or Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Limited Licensed Master Social Worker (LLMSW), License Professional Counselor (LPC) and/or Limited License Psychologist LLP
- For General Mental Health, full license required (LMSW), (LPC), (LP)
- May require Child and Adolescent Functional Assessment Scale (CAFAS) Certification
