System Administrator installs, upgrades and monitors software and hardware. This individual will maintain the operating systems, business applications, security tools, web-servers, local and wide area networking both hardware and software and mid-range server hardware for our client.
Responsibilities:
- Administering and monitoring of switches and routers
- Administering local subversion and git repositories for project source code, system configuration, software, and documentation revision control.
- Standing up a new cloud environment
- Maintaining development, test, and production environments
Required qualifications:
- BS in Computer Science or scientific field (engineering, physics), or equivalent experience
- Experience with network architecture, security, application and database software installation and maintenance.
- Experience configuring, automating, provisioning, monitoring, and managing/reporting compliance for software, hardware networks, communications circuits, storage, and backup/recovery in an agile environment.
- Experience using one or more of the following: Citrix, VMware, Linux, Shell Scripting, open source hosting tools, Cisco Networking, provisioning and deploying software. Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Experience with Python, Javascript, and Java.
- Experience with Open Source tools including Mongo, and Docker Containers; experience with monitoring and management software (e.g. Splunk, Nagios, NetFlow, SolarWinds).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust level clearance
