The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Washington School of Medicine, Division of Endocrinology invites applications for a position as a full-time Assistant Professor, without tenure by reason of funding on the faculty-scientist pathway.
The successful applicant will establish and lead an independent and extramurally-funded research program, and participate in teaching and mentoring graduate students and postdoctoral scholars. Scholarly focus will involve work in multi-omics integration and data science, particularly in pediatric diabetes, nephrology, environmental health and obesity research. Qualified candidates will have adjunct appointments in the UW Department of Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences The successful applicant will be an excellent collaborator, working with existing and newly recruited investigators at Seattle Children's Research Institute (SCRI) and the Department of Pediatrics, as well as the larger UW scientific community and the Institute for Translational Health Sciences.
Assistant Professors are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.

As the second largest Department in the UW School of Medicine, Pediatrics has twenty-one clinical divisions with approximately 1,400 academic appointments, including approximately 650 paid faculty members, 134 residents, 70 ACGME fellows, 230 staff employees and over 600 volunteer/affiliate faculty and continues to grow each year. The Department of Pediatrics is a close affiliate of Seattle Children's Hospital (SCH) and Seattle Children's Research Institute (SCRI). Faculty members appointed in the Department are located at various institutions (including Seattle Children’s, UW Medicine, and FHCRC).
The base salary range for this position will be: $11,250 - $14,167 per month ($135,000- $170,004 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations.
Additional administrative responsibilities may be offered to a specific candidate with appropriate experience and qualifications which may result in an administrative duty supplement (ADS).
