The General Worker (Food Service) reports to the Director of Operations and will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks in conjunction with the preparation, storage, retrieving, serving and sanitation of products and related procedures within the Food Service Department.
The General Worker job may include (but not limited to) serving food on the tray line, waiting on resident dining room other remote dining rooms cleaning of the area, receiving, delivering food and related supplies, storing and retrieving items according to state and department guidelines; cleaning, sanitizing pots dishes and food service equipment; removal and disposal of garbage and related items
This is a UNION part time position, 20-25 hours per week. 4:30-8:30 pm
General Workers must have Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to apply common sense, understanding to carry out details, involving written and oral instructions. Must have the ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to read, write and comprehend the English language
Physical Demands of the General Worker position include:
- Most of the work shift will be in a standing position. Lifting, pulling, pushing, reaches and stretching are also required to perform for duties.
- Walk short distances, washes and lifts heavy pots.
- Carries small wares, beverages, hot and cold foods
Work Environment of the General Worker position includes:
- Exposure to hot water
- Exposure to wet floors
- Exposure to Sanitation agents
- Exposure to steam
- Crowded workplace most of the day. Small work areas, Close body contact at times.
