Summary:  This position is responsible for providing servant leadership and coaching for an Agile Team, empowering through leadership to own and drive workstream results.  Helping educate the team in Scrum, ensuring that the agreed Agile process is being followed.  Additionally, helping remove impediments and fostering an environment for high-performing team dynamics, continuous flow, and relentless improvement.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Act as a Servant Leader for the Agile Team, embracing agility as both a mindset and practice.
  • Drive Agile principles and product development in accordance with Scrum practices, helping the team progress toward team goals.
  • Educate and coach Scrum framework to the Agile Team.
  • Facilitate daily Scrum meeting for Agile Team to share ‘doing – done – blockers.
  • Facilitate the removal of obstacles / roadblocks for the Agile Team.
  • Facilitate early and often communication, collaboration, and cooperation within and between ‘Sprint dependent’ teams through Scrum Of Scrums or other forums.
  • Establish capacity allocation of the team to perform work in a Sprint.
  • Foster normalizing User Story writing to include acceptance behavior test driven development.
  • Help to address issues within the team, escalating to Leadership as necessary.
  • Drive team performance to foster an environment of continuous improvement, including facilitating decision making, leading and driving quality testing results, and protecting the team from outside forces and distractions.
  • Track and report team health, assessing and addressing changes necessary for future Sprints.
  • Ensure the team is ready for release and next Sprint planning by inspecting functional requirement quality.
  • Lead Sprint Planning with the Product Owner to review the Sprint Backlog (defined & prioritized requirements), issues as identified, and risks blocking continuous flow / delivery.
  • Lead Sprint Retrospective to encourage candor feedback, continuous improvement, and learning among the team.
  • Support management of project/workstream budget in collaboration with Program/Project Management Leadership.
  • Continuously improve Sprint Management capabilities by identifying good practices, adopting consistent, standard work and coaching/pairing within the Agile Team.
  • Experience with agile tools and metrics for tracking team progress.
  • Fosters team collaboration by facilitating communication, promoting transparency, and cultivating a culture of trust and accountability within the team.

What You’ll Bring To The Company:

Scrum Master certification desired; 2-5 years working within an iterative software development environment, preferably with a demonstrated proficiency managing Agile teams. PM/BA/QA experience favorable, though not required. Experience in the use of Agile methods and tools. Strong ability to coach teams to deliver results; skilled with interacting and influencing others at various levels; demonstrated written communication with an ability to convey complex technical issues in an easy-to-understand format; excellent oral/presentation skills; ability to develop and deliver presentations, lead, and facilitate planning/strategic discussions, and mediate the decision process in a group setting to create win/win outcomes.
