WHAT YOU WILL DO:

The Mental Health Technician (MHT) is a non-exempt position responsible for assisting in the psychosocial rehabilitation of adult mental health clients through group activities, supportive individual contact, direct training, and/or assistance in activities of daily living. The position also provides assistance to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and the Program Director with program and facility maintenance activities to ensure safe and quality care to Adult Rehabilitation Treatment and Stabilization (ARTS) clients.

  • Ensure the safety, sanitation, and well-being of ARTS clients at all times
  • Maintain ongoing awareness of clients’ whereabouts
  • Report changes in clients' appearance and/or behavior, needed residential supplies, and any areas of concern
  • Observe and assist clients at meal and snack times, noting those with dietary restrictions or considerations
  • Transport clients as needed in agency vehicles
  • Assist clients with activities of daily living (laundry, room cleaning, and showering) as needed
  • Assist with follow-through on treatment goals/objectives as indicated in the client’s treatment plan
  • Complete all required documentation
  • Participate in staff and treatment team meetings
  • Perform housekeeping activities (facility cleaning/sanitation, bed and linen care, light housekeeping functions) as designated by the shift Licensed Practical Nurse or Program Director
  • Respond to emergencies and provide crisis intervention
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Shifts:

  • Saturday 7:00 am - 3:00 pm and 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm
  • Sunday 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm and 11:00 pm - 7:00 am

WHAT WE OFFER:

  • $15.00 per hour, plus $1.00 differential for evening and overnight shifts (3:00 pm – 11:00 pm and 11:00 pm - 7:00 am).
  • Paid Time Off based on the number of hours worked.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • High school diploma with two (2) years’ experience in the mental health field
    • or an Associate degree with one (1) year of experience preferred.
  • Experience with geriatric, chronically mentally ill, or substance abuse/dual diagnosis population preferred.
  • In-service training in the treatment of mental health disorders, abuse regulations, and confidentiality.
  • Familiarity with documentation requirements and patient rights, and be able to respond to special clinical circumstances, including emergencies, suicide, and out-of-control behavior.
  • Must have a valid driver's license with proof of auto insurance coverage.
