Job Description
We are seeking a Cook to join our team. The Cook is responsible for the preparation and service of meals for our Residents, ensuring the highest quality and Resident satisfaction. This role requires maintaining the cleanliness of the food service area and providing indirect supervision to cooks and food service workers. The Cook will report directly to the Dietary Manager on a daily basis.
Prepare and serve nutritious, high-quality meals for Residents
Adhere strictly to food safety guidelines and regulations
Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment at all times
Indirectly supervise and guide junior cooks and food service workers
Collaborate with the Dietary Manager to plan menus and create specialized dishes
Manage inventory and ensure proper storage of food items
Adapt recipes to accommodate dietary restrictions and special nutritional needs
Operate and maintain kitchen equipment in accordance with safety protocols
Contribute to the development of new menu items and culinary offerings
Participate in ongoing training to enhance culinary skills and knowledge
Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations
Maintain accurate records of food production and waste management
Qualifications
Minimum of 1 years experience in a professional kitchen setting
Knowledge of food safety
Passion for food and cooking techniques
Familiar with food service disaster plans
High school diploma or equivalent
Culinary degree or certification preferred
Strong knowledge of various cooking methods and techniques
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Knowledge of dietary restrictions and special diets
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
