This position is available as both full-time and part-time (from 0.4 to 0.8) bids, with variable shifts in the Sitter Float Pool.
Please indicate in your cover letter the bid status you are interested in. This position involves monitoring a patient 1:1 for safety to prevent: falls, disruption of medical devices, self-harm, flight risk situations, etc. Responsibilities include: sitting in the patient's room, monitoring for signs or symptoms of patient agitation, or change from baseline, and reporting to nursing staff as needed. Additional duties to be performed when patient monitoring is not needed include: assisting with clerical activities and other duties as assigned. Sitter is NOT to perform the functions of a CNA. If a patient requires continual nursing assistant care, the patient sitter assignments should be evaluated for appropriateness.
Minimum Required: High School Diploma or equivalent. Must be proficient in English, verbal and written communication skills. Health Stream Competency upon hire. Must be able to sit sedentary for extended periods of time, 95% of the time on the shift. BLS upon hire or obtain within three (3) months.
Preferred: Previous experience in a healthcare setting. Current enrollment in a healthcare related field of study.
